So I wanted to capture our little princess in this moment! Here are some things she has said or done this week that I've recorded (trying to be better at that):
- so bwight- she is kind of obsessed with lights and will often say "so bwight" in an airy tone when she sees a lamp, window open, or something bright. It's so. dang. cute. This morning I even heard her say in her crib as she was waking up "so bwight"
- The other morning I was reading my scriptures and she walked up to me and said, "Crayons. Get. Table." I responded with, "I am reading my scriptures right now but I'll get them when I am done." to which her rebuttal was, "Scriptures, done. Crayons get now."
- The other day I was feeling lazy before I had to prepare dinner so the following conversation happened as I was lounging on the couch:
- "Annie, what should we eat for dinner?"
- "Cookies!"
- "What else?"
- "Milk."
- "What else"?
- "Fruit."
- "What else?"
- "Pizza."
- Her word for anything delicious is "makahs" (cookies, muffins, brownies, ice cream). She can say cookies but she will often say "makahs" when she wants something yummy. Maybe I should start feeding her more vegetables...
- I was laying in bed after Samuel got Annalise out after she woke up. She heard my cough in my dark room in my bed and she walked in to my side of the bed and said, "Mommmyyyyyyy! Down (pointing to the ground...aka 'get down from your bed') Pancakes!" I tried to respond with, "Daddy can make pancakes. Go ask him." but that didn't work. Plus she's sooo cute....
- She now exclaims "OUT!" if we slow down at all when skiing or when she doesn't want to stay in her crib.
- She will often go get her nursery rhymes book (or any book, for that matter), pull herself up on the couch, get her blankie, and open the book, flipping through every page and talking about what she sees on the page. It's so cute. For example, "House. Butterfly. Moon. Trees. Boat. Doggie. Woof Woof. Cat. Another one."
- She will often hand me crayons (trying to get her to not do this and draw on her own but...sometimes it doesn't work) and say the following,
- "Moon. Here (pointing to a spot on the paper)"
- "Big moon or little moon?"
- "Big." (then I draw a moon and she smiles and babbles something about it that's unintelligible and repeats this pattern with other shapes). She has finally started drawing her own shapes, which is cute and she can actually hold a crayon pretty well. She loves to color with crayons.
- She loves other kids and will laugh hysterically at them for no reason.
- Really into names lately and will remember people's names and say them. The other day she saw a girl with long brown hair and said, "Catherine!" (after my sister Catherine). She will also say things like, "Mommy's blanket. Annie's blanket. Daddy's blanket." etc etc.
- She is into weight and will often say things are, "heavy
She is such a joy to be around! Just when you think parenting can't get any better, they reach another milestone. Maybe it's the linguist in me, but I love this one. The talking is so much fun and she makes me smile and laugh multiple times a day.
